The Common Ground Fair 2010
The Windjammer Weekend was a great success with schooners to tour and sail and chowder to taste and rate. (We eagerly await the results of the Best Chowder contest although I’d say that all nine entries should be tied for Number 1)! Spring and summer 2010 on mid-coast Maine brought the most perfect weather and the only thing Hurricane Earl left in his path was more gorgeous, brilliant, crystal clear blue skies and perfect “not quite” fall weather!
As we look forward to a perfect Maine fall our thoughts turn to apples and cider and the bountiful Maine harvest. Across the country, Maine is becoming known as a “foodie” destination and there is no better way to experience what Maine’s food and farmers have to offer than at The Common Ground Fair. Held every year at the end of September the Fair is the culmination of the summer bounty and is not to be missed! Thousands of visitors from all over the country come to the mid-coast and to Unity (Maine) to experience the latest in organic farming techniques; munch on traditional home-grown foods and be treated to some of the newest technologies and oldest traditions of the extremely important and vital slow food movement that is the heartbeat of Maine. Don’t miss The Common Ground Fair 2010!
